This thing is built like a tank, but because it is a simple disk of steel it has a low center of gravity and is smooth for feet to step on. The design is great. The only flaw that I would upgrade to make it perfect would be for both screws to be solid billet pieces instead of plastic handles, and for the paint to be powder coat.

Also, this thing should be available in colors. Overall I still have to say that it's my favorite umbrella base so far.
